Legal Fees

Attorneys' fees in workers' compensation cases are fixed by law. Fees will not exceed twenty percent (20%) of the amount of compensation recovered. Our firm will take no fee on compensation for undisputed periods of temporary total disability or for undisputed medical expenses. In cases involving death or total permanent disability , the law imposes limits on attorneys' fees. We comply with those limits wherever applicable. A workers' compensation claim, like any legal case, typically involves incidental out-of-pocket litigation expenses such as the cost of procuring medical and hospital records, fees for testimony by physicians or other expert witnesses, independent medical evaluation(s), subpoena fees and court reporter fees. These fees can total thousands of dollars when aggressive representation is required. Our law firm generally advances these necessary costs up to the time the case is concluded, at which time these costs must be reimbursed out of any recovery.
